Water Supply Assessment Update
The Water Supply Assessment Update is a regional scale evaluation of water supply sources and projections of future demands through 2030 for the sixteen-county region of northwest Florida. Water demand projections are provided at the county level for the following use categories: public supply, domestic self-supply, agriculture, recreation, power generation, and commercial, industrial, and institutional self-supply. Demand projections are also provided for individual public supply utilities with a permitted average daily rate of 100,000 gallons or greater.
It is important to coordinate efforts to evaluate and plan for our long-term water supply needs. Doing so will help to efficiently and effectively meet the future needs of the citizens of Northwest Florida, while sustaining our natural resources and the environment. The information included in the WSA Update should aid in developing future utility infrastructure plans and in meeting the water supply planning requirements of local comprehensive plans.
The District's Governing Board approved the Water Supply Assessment Update on May 28, 2009. For further information, please contact:
