Spelman Spring is located at the head of a 0.2 mile run to the Chipola River. The spring pool, approximately 20'x70' across, consists of a weathered limestone shelf and, at the time of visitation, had a maximum depth of one foot. The spring vent is a vertical 8-foot wide by 20-foot deep opening at the northern end of the pool. The spring discharge appears tannic, possibly influenced by surface water inflow upgradient of the system. Spelman Spring is adjacent to private property.
