NITRATE
LOADING AS AN INDICATOR OF NONPOINT SOURCE POLLUTION IN THE LOWER
ST.
MARKS-WAKULLA RIVERS WATERSHED
This report documents
efforts to describe the input, movement and fate of nitrogen in ground
and surface waters in the lower St. Marks/Wakulla river basins. The investigation
primarily describes conditions found in the Woodville karst plain region
of southern Leon and Wakulla counties. Nitrogen loads to the landscape
from various sources are estimated and incorporated into a nutrient budget
for the study area. Insights into ground water/surface water interactions
on the karst plain are also given.
Note: Due to the
size of this report, we are offering several ways to download it. The
first option
is suitable for downloading with a high-speed Internet connection. It
is a single Adobe Acrobat document, that has been zipped to facilitate
downloading. We also offer the original, unzipped Adobe Acrobat file,
but be aware this is a 32 megabyte file and it will take several minutes
to open, even on a high-speed connection.
Below
the single document files, the report is broken up into the
main text portion of the report followed by the figures, which is better
suited to low-speed or dial-up connections. This will allow you to
read
the report text and view only those maps that you are interested in.
