Modeling of Ground Water Flow
in
Walton, Okaloosa and Santa Rosa Counties,
Florida
This study provides
a calibrated, numerical ground water flow model for Santa Rosa, Okaloosa
and Walton counties. A fully three-dimensional flow model of the principal
freshwater hydrostratigraphic units has been developed. The model is calibrated
to steady state, 1990 average daily rate pumping conditions for the Floridan
Aquifer system and is verified using estimated pre-development conditions.
Sensitivity analyses identify the impact of uncertain model parameters
on the simulated behavior of the system. The calibrated flow model will
serve as a baseline for conducting more detailed investigations of the
transient behavior of the aquifer, for saline water intrusion analyses
and for regional water supply planning.
