Well Permitting Online Well Permit Management Account (OWPMA) Information
OWPMA is now accepting well permit applications and well completion report submittals online!
Login to your OWPMA account and click on the Application Entry or the Well Completion Report menu option to begin your submittal.
A permit is required for the construction,
repair, or abandonment of any well constructed in the District
unless specifically exempted
by rule or law.
Water wells, including monitor wells, must
be constructed, repaired, or abandoned by a Florida-licensed
water well contractor. (Click
here for a list of licensed well contractors.)
All abandoned wells must be properly plugged,
a permit obtained from the District, and the work performed by
a Florida-licensed
water well contractor.
The District operates a licensing
and enforcement program for persons engaged in the water well
business. Anyone
engaging
in the business of water well construction, repair, or
abandonment must be a Florida-licensed water well contractor.
All wells must be finished at least 12 inches
above grade.
